Water Quality & Pool Maintenance
The New Mexico Environment Department regulations for all hot springs in the state were revised in 2008. OCMS works diligently to stay well within these requirements, maximize water quality and optimize our bathers’ experience. Examples of a few methods that we employ in our efforts in maximizing water quality include: maximizing pool flow and turnover rates; draining, thoroughly cleaning and refilling all of our non-chlorinated pools at least twice weekly; using ozone and ultraviolet light for sterilization of our waters; the filtration of our waters; and maintaining a rigorous and regular microbiological water testing protocol to monitor water quality and insure adherence to the regulation’s standards.
All of the pools are drained, thoroughly cleaned and refilled at least twice per week. We feel very strongly about our responsibility to the public to protect the health and well-being of our guests. The Large pool is a chlorinated pool with a filtration system. The Mud pool is drained and cleaned daily
These recently developed regulations and corresponding practices have resulted in Ojo’s waters being cleaner than ever!
